Last Saturday my nephew James got baptized. It was such a nice baptism. The spirit was so strong. The missionaries were there. They had taught James. Bridget was not able to come because she slept over at Ryan's parents house for her birthday. I wish she could have come because she will be getting baptized soon.

After the Baptism we went to a party with some of Ryan's friends from work.

After the work party Abby and I went to a baby shower for a woman in our ward. By the time I got there I was so tired that I forgot to take any pictures. This was a fun but very busy day.

Tonight we took Bridget out to dinner for her birthday. We let her choose where we went, and she chose Tepanyaki. We are planning a birthday party for her this Saturday, but she asked me what we were doing on her birthday. So we went to dinner. Very yummy!

Free At Last

Today was the first day that I did not tend any kids. It was very nice. I decided that it was to hard to have extras. My own three children are hard enough to keep up with. Today I took Anna to the audiologist. Believe me this was a hard job keeping her quiet and still during the tests, but she was a very good girl. It was nice to be able to relax a little today, although not very much. I still had to clean the kitchen after neglecting it the last few days. It is amazing how fast dirty dishes multiply. Yesterday when I woke up I grabbed the clock to look closer at it. When I picked it up my glasses fell off of it. I got up and looked and looked for them. They seemed to have disappeared. I cleaned up the stuff on my floor. Then I decided to look under the bed. I said a prayer to help me find them but I still couldn't find them. I took the mattress off the bed and cleaned out the crap under it. Then I vacuumed the whole room and remade the bed. still no glasses. I was getting pretty worried. I just got these glasses on Saturday and I really love them. I decided to pray again, and then I looked in the drawers of my night stand again and then I found them. I guess Heavenly Father really wanted me to clean my room. I am very grateful for my clean room and that he helped me find my glasses.

Sewing Time

I have been trying to do some sewing lately. I have some fabric that I bought many years ago to make quilts for Bridget and Abby. I had originally planned to make Abby a crib size quilt, so tells you how long ago that was. the fabric has Disney princesses on it. I have waited so long that now I need to make one for Anna too, and Bridget doesn't even like princesses anymore. I got it out and started working on it last night. The girls thought that my fabric boxes made great beds.

I wonder if I will ever finish the quilts. I might just end up making them for my grandchildren. I have a Winnie the Pooh quilt that my mom had planned to make when I was a child. My sisters and my Nephews and I painted the blocks. She finally made it when Abby was born. Mom I am just like you, and that is a good thing to be.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

My Friend Debi and I have created a tradition of going out to dinner together with our children while our husbands attend the priesthood session. We had planned to go together last night, but she was sick and had to cancel. My daughters were so disappointed when they found out we were not going. I decided we could go out by our selves. Bridget decided we should go bowling . We had a great time. I am a great bowler when I have bumpers. When we were done bowling we were very hungry. Since Bridget picked the activity Abby got to pick the restaurant. Abby wanted to go to a restaurant called Tepenyaki (I have no idea how to spell it). They cook your food right in front of you. The kids just love this place, and I admit so does mom. It is a bit expensive but it was a special Mommy daughter date. I even caught a shrimp in my mouth.

On Friday night we read a story in the Friend called "The Reverence Tent. It was about a family who built a tent in their living room to watch conference. This was to remind them of King Benjamin's people. We tried this too. It was quite fun. We called it the Reverence tent too, but eventually it became the reverence pile of blankets and crumbs.

Pink Cupcakes

Yesterday I was looking at my friend Carrie's blog and found a recipe for Strawberry Cupcakes. I decided I would try them for family night treat. When I picked Abby up from school we went to the book fair. While we were there Bridget's class came in and she showed me a book that she wanted called Pinkalicuos. It is a story about a girl who ate to many pink cupcakes and she turned pink. The only way she could turn back was to eat green foods. I decided to use this story in our family night lesson. It was a bit of a stretch, but we talked about the word of wisdom and some of the foods we need to eat to stay healthy and receive the blessings promised in D&C section 89. We had fun and ate lots of cupcakes but we did not turn pink. By the way Carrie the cupcakes were fantastic. Thank you for the recipe.
