Potty Time

I have been wondering if I would have two kids in diapers when the baby is born. Anna didn't seem to have any interest in using the toilet. Last week when I realized that she was two months past her third birthday, I decided it was time. I started putting her in underwear all the time. She has had a few accidents this week, but she is really doing great. She keeps telling me,
"No more diapers for Anna."
Now I will have about 14 weeks with no diapers.
Oh Happy Day.

Oh Boy, Welcome to the Paulsen Family

The latest Belly photo

If anyone does not know we are expecting our fourth child on August 8, 2010. I am about 19 weeks now. Yesterday we had an ultra-sound and found out we are finally having a boy. During the scan the technician was looking at the spine when all of a sudden I got a glimpse between the legs and it was definitely a boy. I was a bit shocked. I have gotten used to babies being girls. The whole family is so excited. The girls are happy that Daddy will not be the only boy in the family anymore. I guess now I can finally finish the blue sailboat quilt that I started in high school. (Mrs. Munns would be so proud.) Right now I am trying to get my house more organized with the help of my sweet friend Brigid. I am happy that I can now get rid of all the pink frilly clothes I have been saving. This will free up a lot of space in Anna's room. So Welcome to the Family Baby Boy Paulsen.

Back to Kindergarten

Abby' class wanted to take a field trip to the fire station, but instead the firefighters
brought their gear and trucks to the school.

They let each of the kids take turns squirting water from the fire hose.

Anna came with me and she had a great time. The firefighters thought she was so cute.

All the kids sat down and watched the firefighter repel down a rope
from the ladder.

Anna and Abby both had a wonderful time.

Abby is working on her journal.

Anna thought she was a kindergartner. She helped clean up the paints
after art. I hope the tongue sticking out is because she is concentrating so hard,
and not licking something off her lip.

I had just as much fun as the kids did. It was nice to see what Abby does in
school and what she is learning.

Corner Bakery

Last night Ryan took Bridget out for a Daddy Daughter Date. They went to dinner and to see "Fiddler on the Roof" at Hale Center Theater. When Ryan takes one girl out the others who stay home with me think we should do something special too. Abby and Anna and I decided to walk to the new Corner Bakery that was just built right by our house. It was fun and the food was good, but it was more expensive than I was hoping. I guess it will be a once in a while place we go.

Pajama Party

The other night when it was time to get ready for bed, Abby could not find any pajamas. Anna told her she could borrow some of hers.
Bridget had to get into the fun and try on a pair of Anna's pajamas also. They all thought it was very funny.

Anna is Three

Modeling her new dress.

Anna's Birthday was on Saturday, February 20
We had a fun party with Grandma and Grandpa Paulsen,
and Grandma and Grandpa Steed

I spent most of the day making this cake.
Anna seemed to really like it.

Only little girls get this excited about new clothes.

She really likes this dog that sings "BINGO"

All of the girls stood up on chairs and read poems to us. Here is Anna's Poem.

Happy Valentine's and President's Day

We had a fun Valentine dinner together. The girls were so excited that we were using a tablecloth and our best dishes, and we were not having company. We had so much fun being together.

On Presidents day I woke up and to my surprise I had energy and I felt good. The girls and I spent the day cleaning the house, that I have been neglecting for the last three months. It is so nice to have things tidy. Today I don't know where my energy went, so I don't know how long the tidiness will last.
